Himachal Travel Guide

Parks in Himachal Pradesh

There are two beautiful national parks in Himachal Pradesh. Both are the natural wonders in this Whole World. No comparison. One is The Great Himalayan National Park at Kullu and other is The Pin Valley National Park at Spiti.

Foods in Himachal Pradesh

People took fancy to horticulture and the State soon became Apple State of India. It, today, grows a variety of best apples in India including Red Delicious, Golden and Yellow Newton. With citrus in valleys, grapes in high hills, mangoes, litchis, strawberries, apricots, peaches, cherries, pears in warmer and temperate regions, it is Fruit Bowl of the country. Kiwi and olive are steadily making their presence felt. Fruits are eaten raw as dessert. Fruit that is less presentable is processed and converted into juices, drinks, jams etc.  Apple drinks are most popular.

Lakes in Himachal Pradesh

Himachal map is colored blue and well over one percent of its mass is under some form of water - lakes and rivers and glaciers. Of the lakes, some are natural bequests that date back millions of years to the time when the region was a vast inland sea and today, they are fed by streams of pure snow-melt or by groundwater springs. Practically without exception, they are held sacred - or at the very least, have fascinating legends lapping their crystal-clear waters. Other lakes are far more recent and are man-made reservoirs. Many are sources of the rivers that start as tiny streams and grow to become the giants that feed the fertile valleys of the State and the Gangetic plains of north India.
